AutoClaims Direct, Inc. ("ACD") has a long-standing commitment to safeguarding the privacy of information entrusted to us. Your privacy is important to ACD so we’ve developed a Privacy Policy that covers how we collect, use, disclosed, transfer and store your personal information.

What information do we collect on this site?
When registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address, phone number or other details to help you with your experience. For those interested in becoming a platform partner, we may ask for a government issued ID, business license, certifications, which will be used to evaluate your application.

ACD may share this personal information with its employees, partners and third-parties with access to ACD’s technology who may use it consistent with this Privacy Policy. They may also combine it with other information to provided and improve our products, services, content and advertising. You are not required to provide the personal information requested, but, if you chose not to do so, in many cases, we will not be able to provide you with our products or services or respond to any queries you may have.

When do we collect information?
We collect information from you when you subscribe to a newsletter, respond to a survey, fill out a form, Use Live Chat, Open a Support Ticket, provide us with feedback on our products or services or enter any other information on our site.

We may have received your personal information from Third Party Administrators, your insurance carrier, adverse carrier or other party to which you may have reported your auto or property claim incident.

How do we use your information?
We may use the personal information collected from you, with your consent, in the following ways:

  • To contact you in conjunction with claim and/or property repair;
  • To verify your identity for anti-fraud purposes;
  • To allow us to better service you in responding to your customer service requests;
  • To improve our website in order to better serve;
  • To administer a contest, promotion, survey or other site feature;
  • To ask for feedback, rating and/or review of services or products;
  • To respond to inquiry or correspondence (live chat, email or phone inquiries); and
  • For internal purposes, such as auditing, data analysis and research to improve ACD's products, services and customer communications.

Do we share information?
We share your information with others as permitted or required by law. This includes with platform partners, such as appraisers, scene investigators, repair facilities, and with other third parties for many reasons. These reasons include to process your request for service, provide estimate of repair cost, for legal or regulatory purposes, to prevent fraud, to respond to court orders and legal investigations and to report to insurance service organizations.

Non-personal site visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising or other uses. Additionally, in the event of a reorganization, merger or sale, we may transfer any and all personal information we collect to the relevant third party.

Do we collect and use non-personal information?
We collect data in a form that does not, on its own, permit direct association with any specific individual. We may collect, use, transfer and disclose non-personal information for any purpose. The following are some examples of non-personal information that we collect and how we may use it:

  • We collect vehicle data such as year, make, model, area of damage, parts data and repair costs to facilitate machine learning and improve our products and services.
  • We collect information as to location of damaged property, weather at time of loss and property owner contact information to facilitate property inspection and estimate as part of the claim process.
  • We may collect claim information, frequency and severity from our products and services. This information is aggregated and used to help us provide beneficial information to our customers.

If we do combine non-personal information with personal information, the combined information will be treated as personal information for as long as it remains combined.

How do we protect your information?
ACD takes the security of your personal information very seriously. We project your personal information during transit using encryption such as Transport Layer Security (TLS). When your personal information is stored in our application, it is encrypted. We use network systems with limited access housed in facilities using physical security measures. We have established user controls to mask personal information for certain users, while allowing other users to access to facilitate the processing of an auto or property claim across the platform.

We implement a variety of security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.

Our website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our site as safe as possible. No transactions are processed in any way through this site.

Do we use 'cookies'?
ACD’s website, online services, interactive applications, email messages and advertisements may use “cookies” to help us better understand user behavior, tell us which parts of our website people have visited and facilitate and measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts. We may also use trusted third-party services that track this information on our behalf. We treat information collected by cookies as non-personal information. To the extent that internet protocol (IP) addresses and similar identifiers are considered personal information by local law, we treat these identifiers as personal information.

You can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies. You do this through your browser settings. Since each browser is a little different, look at your browser's Help Menu to learn the correct way to modify or disable your cookies. If you turn cookies off, it won't affect your experience.

We may collect, use and share precise location data of your damaged vehicle or property to provide location-based services, such as physical inspections. Where available, location-based services may use GPS, cell tower locations and other technologies to determine distance from inspector to your vehicle or repair shop. Using our Self(IE) product, location data is captured with photos of damages taken.

Can you opt out and stop tracking?
Users can set preferences for how Google advertises to you using the Google Ad Settings page. Alternatively, you can opt out by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative Opt Out page or by using the Google Analytics Opt Out Browser add on.

We honor Do Not Track signals and Do Not Track, plant cookies, or use advertising when a Do Not Track (DNT) browser mechanism is in place.

How do you address Children’s Privacy?
We do not market, intend to market or collect personal information for persons less than 13 years of age. Most of our claims involve licensed drivers over age 16.

How do I ask a privacy question or file a complaint?

All complaints regarding privacy or personal information will receive a response within seven (7) days wherever possible – providing a response on the issue raised, requesting additional information where necessary or indicating that a response will require additional time. You may at any time refer your complaint to the relevant regulator in your jurisdiction if you are unsatisfied with a reply received from us.

ACD may update its Privacy Policy from time to time. When we change the policy in a material way, a notice will be posted on our website along with the updated Privacy Policy. Additionally, we will contract you via message at login to application or other in-application communication.
